Sneak preview of some of the portraits from Marfa made at an art happening organized by the Biennial Project. Unlike the New England landscapes I’m used to, the skies here near the Mexican border are so beyond human scale that I figured I’d use a background like a little parentheses around each subject. Being a thrifty New Englander, I made my snazzy green contraption out of materials found in the local hardware store in neighboring Alpine rather than fly or ship them out. Green plastic tablecloth, window screen framing, tape, and a willing human participant to keep the whole setup portable.
